Photo-Op: art to pose with is an interactive exhibition that reflects ForYourArt’s spirit of encouraging engagement and play while offering photo opportunities. In one room, a series of sculptures to either be picked up, put on, stood with, framed and (in all cases) pictured with. The artists embrace the camera and make art geared towards it. Including works by Akina Cox, Michael Decker, Joel Kyack, Alex Miller, Lisa Sitko, amy von Harrington and organized by Alex Miller.
All artworks in this show are incomplete until the audience collaborates.
Miller contacted some of the funniest artists in Los Angeles and asked them to either create or use an existing work that applies to the prompt: artwork to pose with in a photograph. This show is an experiment in two levels of participation: artist and audience. The audience is encouraged to tag photos: #photoopart; all photos tagged will be uploaded to photoopart.tumblr.com.
